Is this for you?

  • Your team runs the business on spreadsheets, email and chat, and things slip through.
  • Clients keep asking where things stand, and someone has to answer by hand.
  • You copy the same data between tools every day.
  • Off-the-shelf software almost fits, and you've bent your process around it.
  • You have an idea for a product or a client portal and need it built properly.
  • You want the numbers you care about on one screen, not in five reports.

Why it pays off

The people who map it build it

Alex and Alesia map the product and design the screens. Dima, our partner and lead developer, writes the code. No hand-offs between agencies.

A fixed quote before any code

We map every screen and action first, then quote. You know the price before we start. No hourly billing.

Working software early

You click through a working version early, not a slide deck at the end. Every stage ends with something you can use.

What we build

Client portals

Clients upload documents, sign, pay and check where things stand from their phone, with no app to install.

Dashboards

The numbers and the to-do list your team checks every morning, on one screen.

Internal tools

Swap the spreadsheet everyone edits for a tool that tracks every job, payment and status.

SaaS products

From the first prototype to a product you can sell, plus the website that sells it.

Connected to your tools

Payments, email, text messages and the services you already use, connected instead of copied by hand.

Tested as we go

Automated tests on the rules that matter, so a new feature doesn't break what already works.

How it works

Every project starts with a map of what the software has to do. Then we build it in stages you can click through.

1

Kickoff & map

A kickoff call, then a written map of every screen, role and action, so we agree on exactly what gets built.

2

Fixed quote

Based on the map, you get a fixed quote and a plan of stages. No code is written until you agree.

3

Design

We design the key screens for phone and desktop and walk you through them before we build.

4

Build in stages

Each stage ends with working software you can try, not a status report. Your feedback shapes the next one.

5

Launch & next steps

We launch, fix what comes up in the first weeks, and agree on what's next: new features, ongoing support or a handover.

What's included

  • Kickoff call and a written map of screens, roles and actions
  • Design of the key screens for phone and desktop
  • The build: database, server and every screen
  • Sign-in and access by role, for example owner, staff and client
  • Connections to payments, email or text messages when the project needs them
  • Automated tests for the core rules
  • Hosting setup with backups, in an account in your name
  • A working version to try at the end of each stage
  • Fixes after launch for the period agreed in the quote

Not included

  • Native iPhone and Android apps. We build web apps that work on any phone; if you truly need the App Store, we'll say so before we quote.
  • Hosting, email, text-message and payment-service fees. You pay those directly, in accounts in your name.
  • Security certifications and audits, such as SOC 2 or HIPAA.
  • Features beyond the agreed map. We quote them separately.
  • A marketing website for the product. That's a New Website.

Why work with us

You talk to the people doing the work.

No account managers and no handoffs. Two founders, start to finish.

We write the words ourselves.

Most sites don't fail on design. They fail because a visitor can't tell what the business does. Copy is part of every project, not an add-on.

You'll see whether it worked.

We set up tracking on every project, so calls and form leads are counted from day one.

Fixed price, agreed up front.

You know the price before we start. No hourly billing.

What about ChatGPT and AI search?

Software sits behind a sign-in, so AI search matters most for the website around it. If your product has a public site, we build it the way we build every Markito site: clear pages, real answers and structured data that Google and AI assistants can read.

If you want AI features inside the software itself, we'll tell you where they help and where a simple rule does the job better.

Questions

How much does custom software cost?

It depends on what it has to do. We map the screens and actions first, then send a fixed quote. You know the price before any code is written, and we don't bill by the hour.

How long does it take?

It depends on the scope. We plan the work in stages, and each stage ends with something you can use, so you see progress early instead of waiting for one big launch.

Do you build mobile apps?

We build web apps that work on any phone, tablet or computer, with no app to install. Your clients open a link and sign in. If your project truly needs the App Store, we'll say so before we quote.

Who builds it?

Dima, our partner and lead developer, writes the code. Alex and Alesia map the product and design the screens. You talk directly to the people doing the work.

What do you build with?

Usually Elixir and Phoenix. They're fast, reliable and good at live updates, like a client's upload appearing on the office screen the moment it's sent. If your project calls for something else, we'll tell you why before we start.

Who owns the code?

You do. The code, the data and the accounts it runs on are in your name, so you're never locked in.
